Founded in 1937 as a division of Toyota industries by Kichiro Toyoda, the original company which was then called Toyoda was only a small department. Whilst during World War II Toyota was producing trucks for the imperial Japanese army in 1947 the company made its first commercial passenger vehicle, the Toyota SA. It was in the early 50s when the Japanese automaker first sent its El Salvador and Land Cruiser to America. But the Toyota Crown was the manufacturer's first car to be exported to the United States.
Weathershields
The best way to let fresh air inside your vehicle and keep the elements out is with a pair of weathershields. These Toyota spares can be found in different finishes but most of them are tinted to provide you with more privacy too. Weathershields can either stick on to the frame of the window with adhesive or they can be installed into the channel of the window.
Stick On
Installing weathershields with adhesive requires you to first place each one on the window to see if it fits properly. When you've made that, you need to clean the surface where these Toyota parts will be placed. Once the surface is dry, remove about 5 cm of the backing strip on the weathershield and fold out the excess strip so you have an easy-to-pull tab.
Before you start installing in channel weathershields you need to have the windows down and make sure they are clean and dry too. If you are installing in channel weathershields on the front windows, position them so you have the front end of the weathershield on top of the window sill. Avoid sliding it down into the door.
When you've positioned the front end of the weatehrshield place it's lip into the window channel then bow the weathershield towards you.
This will make some tension and then you will slip the rear end of the lip in the window channel with a 1 cm gap. By working your way from the front to the back start sliding the weathershield's lip into the window channel. When you've put it in place, apply a little bit of outward pressure in order to secure the weathershield in the channel.
This type of replacement usually takes around half an hour but if you are more familiar with these Toyota spares you'll probably do this even faster. Before you start, make sure you have gloves and some basic hand tools (these vary by model).
Headlights
1. Start by removing the protective shield that is sitting in the back of the headlight assembly. After that, turn the plastic harness and loosen it. Then just slide out the plastic harness and the headlight's bulb from the back. Afterwards, remove the clip holding the bulb in the assembly and watchfully remove the headlight from the harness.
Air Filter
The air filter is important for providing clean air to your engine but it doesn't last forever. From time to time these Toyota spare parts need to be changed in order to prevent your vehicle from emitting more emissions and for better fuel efficiency too.
